Employee Spotlight: Verena Mitterling, Junior Sales & Marketing Manager

Every month, we turn the spotlight on one of the team members responsible for bringing our industry-leading products and services to life. This month, meet Verena Mitterling, Junior Sales & Marketing Manager at NextGuest.

What’s your role at NextGuest, and what are some of your responsibilities?

I’m a Junior Sales & Marketing Manager supporting the team from product and content marketing to conference planning.

What did you do before working at NextGuest?

After finishing my studies in Economy focusing on Hotel Management, I worked for Marriott International as a Conference Sales Coordinator.

What’s your favorite thing about your role?

I really enjoy the variety of responsibilities that come with my role. The open collaboration at NextGuest allows me to be creative, think outside of the box and contribute to the company by sharing my ideas.

What’s your favorite destination you’ve traveled to and why?

This is a difficult question for me because I love traveling and have been to so many beautiful places. However, when I visited Hawaii, I simply fell in love. I visited the island of Oahu and was inspired by the indescribably beautiful water, the exotic nature and the magic of the island. My adventures there make me excited to return and explore the other islands as well.

What’s an essential item you can’t travel without?

I can’t travel without my Kindle! I love to read books and this is how I relax so it’s the perfect sidekick for long-haul trips. When I was backpacking through Southeast Asia for five months my Kindle and I were very close friends. Whether it was relaxing on a quiet beach, reading before bed, or in between travels from one country to another, I was glad I had my Kindle with me. I think I read about 50 books on this trip.
